I was so sorry to learn of Phil's passing.  I grew up next door to him and remember having a lot of good times with him and his brother. He was always ready to have some fun.

I remember being at Phil's house listening to the World Series with the Dodgers. His sister was president of the Beatles Fan Club for Bakersfield. I helped him trying to restore a Model T. We took it out to sandblast the body and blasted away part of the body. I drove up to Ft Ord to visit him while he was in basic. It was a shock to me, as a Marine, to drive on base and go right to his barracks without being challenged. I lost touch with him after that.
