Obituary

Born August 22, 1950 died suddenly at home on February 12, 2023 in Bakersfield, California. He was the second son of King and Lois Chambless, who proceeded him in death. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years Sandy Chambless & son David Chambless, two brothers Noel Chambless living in Mississippi and Ryan & wife Brenda Chambless of Bakersfield, CA.

Gary attended South High School Class of 1968, then Bakersfield College, but left and went to work for his father at Cal Crete Block Plant where he worked until the business sold. He then became an insurance agent until God called him into the ministry, where Gary found his true calling. After serving under wonderful examples of godly men and women, God led him to his true church home under the guidance of a very anointed pastor and his wife Edward and Char Barger of the Rock Church on Norris Road. He was so very happy there serving God and all the people (sheep) there. He always said when he stood before God he wanted to smell like sheep, He had heard another pastor say that, and it touched his heart so deep.

At the end of his life the wonderful people of the Rock Church will tell you he reached his goal.

-He loved God with all of his heart. He was truly a wonderful man of God, fabulous husband and father. He will truly be missed more than words can say. If Gary was here with us today, he would tell you no one is promised tomorrow. It's time to get right with God.

I remember Gary as being one of the most respectful and nice young men in our class. He seemed to always have a smile and kind word for everyone. It appears he carried that through out his life. Sandy and family, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Thank you all who commented about Gary

he was truly kindhearted stopping to pray for anyone who was hurting. He truly had a deep love for people. He's been gone 3 months to day. And l still have people coming up to me l've never met telling me how he prayed for them or helped them. That was the love of God for people coming through him. He would be so blessed by you kindness to him

                      Thank you so very much
